Marks Ready for Short Track Action at Mansfield

05/20/2008 — Media Contact: Lori Smith, Germain Racing (704) 799-4301 Phone emaiLLasmith@yahoo.com Email For Immediate Release #9 Justin Marks, Construct Corps Tundra Mooresville, NC (05-20-2008) – Justin Marks, driver of the no. 9 Construct Corps Tundra for Germain Racing will run his second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series short-track race when the series takes on Mansfield Motorsports Park, Saturday, in the Ohio 250. In his short-track initiation at Martinsville Speedway in March, Marks fell three laps down to the leaders early in the race when he had to bring the no. 9 Construct Corps Tundra to pit road under the green flag. He held on to regain all three laps and finish 20th. “I’ve heard the Mansfield fans are some of the best in the sport. I look forward to meeting them on Thursday evening in downtown and I hope we can put on a great show for them Friday in the Construct Corps Tundra,” said Marks, of Rocklin, CA. The no. 9 Germain Racing team has taken Marks testing to gain more short-track experience. Marks proved in the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series that he can win on a gritty, old short track when he won at Toledo in 2005. “I’m still pretty new to the short track thing, so the fact that I’ve gained a lot of seat-time from the Martinsville testing to our recent trip to the Motor Mile – it can only help me adapt my driving style to the hard-nosed, side-by-side action of the Truck Series’ short tracks,” said Marks. Crew chief Jason Overstreet says his team is looking forward to getting on track at Mansfield. “We’ve been testing our short-track program and getting our driver seat-time on short tracks. We’re looking forward to putting the Construct Corps Tundra to the test at Mansfield this weekend,” said Overstreet. Marks is ready for the short-track fun. “I’m looking forward to Mansfield. The short tracks are wild in the Truck Series and they are a lot of fun. I think the Ohio 250 will be a good race to show what we’ve learned in the Construct Corps Tundra this season,” said Marks. Germain Racing has won two or more races each year for a total of 14 wins. Along with the victories, the team has earned 4 Bud Pole awards, 56 top-five and 85 top-ten finishes and led 1360 laps in 165 Truck Series races.
