Voodoo Ride, Germain Racing and Justin Marks Unite for Daytona Race
02/04/2008 — Mooresville, NC (February 4, 2008) - Germain Racing, 2006 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Champions, will enter the ranks of the ARCA RE/MAX Series this weekend when they field the number 65 Toyota Camry in the season opener at Daytona. Justin Marks, who finished 5th in ARCA RE/MAX Series points in 2007, will be behind the wheel of the #65 Camry carrying the bold logo of Voodoo Ride, a new automotive lifestyle and appearance products company co-founded by NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. "I am really excited about returning to Daytona to race in the ARCA 200," said Marks. "It's the most important track in American racing and an awesome race. It's great to be given the opportunity to represent such a cool company like Voodoo Ride as well. They have a great product, a cool image and a very bright future in the market." Voodoo Ride launched their dynamic new line of automotive interior and exterior car care products at the SEMA show in Las Vegas late last year. The edgy new line includes Mojo, Voodoo Ride's all-surface speed detailer and flagship product, as well as a full line of other quality products poised to revolutionize the car care market. "As a new, rapidly growing brand in the car care market, Voodoo Ride is proud and excited to be associated with such a young, aggressive and successful driver as Justin Marks. We strongly believe in Justin and this relationship, as the Voodoo Ride brand and Justin Marks share the same passion, focus and competitive spirit that are necessary to achieve success both on the track, and in the retail marketplace," said Chris Ferraro, president of Voodoo Ride. Marks made his Daytona stock car debut in last year's ARCA event running in the top ten late in the race, only to be caught up in the evening's final wreck with less than 10 laps to go. An unlucky start to the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series season for the Northern California native turned around in late summer. Marks capped off the season with a run of eight consecutive top-ten finishes, including runner-up finishes at The Milwaukee Mile and Chicagoland Speedway. "I had a great season in 2007," continued Marks. "It was a difficult but rewarding enterprise not only for me but for everyone on the RAB Racing team. We all worked hard, grew together and engineered an impressive rally at the end of the season to finish in the top-five in driver and owner points. Getting ready for this season with Germain Racing, I've been getting a lot of testing seat time, but it's now time to go racing and I can't wait." Germain Racing recently announced that Marks would drive the number 9 Toyota Tundra in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2008 alongside Todd Bodine, the 2006 NCTS Series Champion. Marks and the team have been busy preparing for the upcoming season including a rigorous testing schedule. "I have been behind the wheel of the number 9 Crocs/Construct Corps Tundra a lot during the winter which has been a great learning experience for me and given me the opportunity to get to know everybody on the Germain team and learn about the Tundra," Marks said. "We have a great car in the Voodoo Ride Camry for Daytona and we're prepared and hungry to win." Mike Abner will serve as crew chief after a successful run in 2007 which saw him orchestrate an impressive victory for Ted Musgrave in the NCTS race at Texas Motor Speedway. Associate sponsorship on the number 65 Camry will come from Real Deal Merchandise, Kartel Motorsports, Germain Motor Company, Construct Corps and Crocs. Germain Racing has collected 13 victories and four Bud Pole awards in just over three years of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competition. In four NASCAR Busch Series races in 2007, the team has led laps and earned two top-ten finishes. For more information on the race team, visit www.germainracing.com.
