Marks Top Rookie at Daytona
02/16/2008 — Daytona Beach, FL (02-16-2008) – Justin Marks fulfilled a dream on Friday night, racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Daytona. He also earned top rookie honors and a top-ten finish to kick off his first full-time season of Truck Series competition. Marks started eighth and finished eighth in the 250-mile season opener. “I had a really, really good Construct Corps Toyota Tundra tonight. It’s a testament to how hard all the guys at Germain Racing worked,” said Marks, who earned Raybestos Rookie of the Race honors. “We definitely had a truck that could have won the race. It got kind of messed up there with that second wreck with the right side but it was driving just as good after the guys on pit road worked on it as it was before. It was great to see my teammate in victory lane and great to start off the season with a top-ten finish at Daytona.” Marks feels strongly that his Daytona finish was the result of team work. “Germain Racing is a testament to what hard working, tight knit people can do. We’re not a big Sprint Cup team. We don’t have the resources that some of those guys have but these guys really dig in and work hard and I’m just so proud to be a part of it and have those guys behind me,” said Marks. “Jason Overstreet and all the guys on the Construct Corps Tundra team did a great job. It’s awesome for Germain Racing to get a win at Daytona and finish with both trucks in the top-10.” Germain Racing has earned 14 victories and 4 pole awards in the Truck Series. Being part of this winning team gives rookie Marks a lot of confidence. “I can’t thank Mike Hillman and the Germain brothers enough for putting me in the #9 Tundra. We started the season exactly like we finished it, with a top-10 finish. We just have to keep being smart and we’ll have a very strong season,” said Marks. Marks will drive the Crocs Tundra at California Speedway. Watch it on FOX, Saturday.
