Justin Marks Tackles Tricky Triangle This Weekend
07/28/2010 — Long Pond, PA (July 28, 2010)- Back on track after a one week hiatus, Justin Marks and the No. 32 Win-Tron Racing Team travel to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania this weekend for the running of the Weis Markets 125. Striving for the best finishes possible in all situations, Marks scored his fourth consecutive top-10 finish last weekend at Mansfield despite suffering from a cut right front tire on two separate occasions. After starting in the seventh position, Justin remained well within reach of the race leaders before an incident on lap 36 with Mikey Kile cut down his right front tire and forced him to pit and lose one lap. Though he continued to run lap times as fast, if not faster, than the leaders all night, another right front tire issue hindered him from gaining his laps back, relegating him to 10th place at the drop of the checkered flag. Switching back to a Toyota Camry this weekend after utilizing the Dodge Charger at Mansfield Motorsports Park, Justin Marks holds a 50-point lead over second place Craig Goess in the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards championship point standings. Nine-time ARCA Racing Series Champion Frank Kimmel lingers in third place, just 85 markers behind the Rocklin, California native. The last outing proved to be a challenge for the Minnesota-based team, as they searched for the right setup in their Toyota Camry and mustered up a seventh place finish at the end of the day. Taking what they learned from previous runs, along with data from testing since the last event, the Mike Chaffee-lead team believes they’ll have a car to contend with this Saturday afternoon. In 2009, Win-Tron posted two top-fives with the No. 32 machine, including a second place finish with driver Matt Merrell behind the controls. We weren’t really that great the first time around this year but we’ve worked a lot on the cars and I think we’ve made some progress during the testing we’ve done, so we’re just going to hope for the best. Pocono is a track that I’m comfortable at and I think I race well there, so if we have a good car we’ll be in good shape. The 81 (Craig Goess) is the defending winner of that race, and the 25 (Mikey Kile) is going to be up there too- they had everyone covered last time. It’s going to be a hard fought championship and we just have to keep doing the best we can week in and week out. Co-Owner Nate Thiesse on Pocono Raceway We definitely have our work cut out for us at Pocono this weekend; we worked hard to find the right setup last month but we’re going to apply some of the things we learned then to the setup this weekend. Heading into this weekend we’re looking to bounce back from the bad luck we had at Mansfield two weeks ago. Justin drove a very tough race last weekend at Mansfield, and we know he’ll give it 110 percent from here on out, no matter what track we travel to and what challenges lay ahead.
